International Giveaway!!!
In the last few weeks I have caught up a bit on my reading , and one of the books I read was Ashfall by Mike Mullen - you can read my review HERE. And this book made me remember another book that had me seriously freaking.. out!
Miranda’s disbelief turns to fear in a split second when a meteor knocks the moon closer to the earth. How should her family prepare for the future when worldwide tsunamis wipe out the coasts, earthquakes rock the continents, and volcanic ash blocks out the sun? As summer turns to Arctic winter, Miranda, her two brothers, and their mother retreat to the unexpected safe haven of their sunroom, where they subsist on stockpiled food and limited water in the warmth of a wood-burning stove.
Told in journal entries, this is the heart-pounding story of Miranda’s struggle to hold on to the most important resource of all--hope--in an increasingly desperate and unfamiliar world.
The more I remember it the happier I am that I am finally sharing it with you all!!

ReplyDeleteand...I havent really read too many dystopian/apocalyptic books! So picking a favorite wouldn't be too fair to the other wonderful books in the universe:)
ReplyDeleteLife As We Knew It is a fabulous book! I read it when it came out and I was totally immersed in the story!
ReplyDeleteSounds good, never read apocalptic books. Time for a change!!
ReplyDeleteWow, this really seems to be an amazing book! I've been a lot into dystopian books lately, but I have to say that I still haven't read as much of them as I'd like to. Besides The Hunger Games, my favorite dystopian book so far is probably Legend by Marie Lu. I really liked the characters in it.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this awesome giveaway! :)
My favorite Dystopian's are The Hunger Games & Divergent.
ReplyDeleteI'd say Delirium, Matched (and Crossed), THG, and Divergent! :D
ReplyDeleteI haven't read many dystopian/apocalyptic books...But I liked the Hunger Games, loved Battle Royal, The Hunt and the Gone series. :)
ReplyDeleteOh god, there had been sooo many (and so many that I haven't read). But I guess 1984 by George Orwell has to be my fav! I know it is totally NOT recent but it is a classic, and I will always have a soft spot for it :P
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks Mi, for the giveaway! (I hope you are ok for me to call you Mi) :P
Sounds like a great book! The Hunger Games and Starters have been two of my faves!
ReplyDeleteI have read somany, first being the Uglies series and the City of Ember series. My favourite is the Chaos Walking series.
ReplyDeleteHave you read many dystopian / apocalyptic books? If you have, what's been your favorite?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite so far HAS to be Legend by Marie Lu :)
My favorite dystopian or post apocalyptic would have to be Dark Life by Kat Falls
ReplyDeleteOh, I read that one! I loved it!
DeleteFavorite dystopian story... too hard to choose! That's one of my favorite genres! Ever since reading The Giver in middle (or elementary?) school, and 1984 by George Orwell and Aldous Huxley's Brave New World in high school, I have sought out this genre. Favorite recent one I've read? Unwind by Neal Shusterman. I'm even re-reading it less than a month after reading it the first time because I want to remember all the points it brought up before sending it back to the library.
ReplyDeleteAlso, congrats again on reaching 300 subscribers! Woo!
ReplyDeleteThe Hunger Games for shizzle
ReplyDeletei love hunger games trilogy and wither!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have read many books like that actually, but it sounds interesting. =) <3
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Dystopian Books is Delirium and Wither

ReplyDeleteNope. Only the Hunger Games and Divergent. THG is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI have and DIVERGENT<3 is my faveee:)
ReplyDeleteI think for the sake of not having to think about it too much, we'll stick to THG for favourite dystopian novel. I did like Wither too, but it's not a favourite.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the giveawaaaaay.
Hoping to win! Lukcy week! Thanks

I have read several dystopian novels, Matched/Crossed by Ally Condie, Possession by Elana Johnson, The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins, and The Pledge by Kimberly Derting (spelling?). I really love the genre. So far, my favorite has probably been The Hunger Games followed closely by Possession.
