Prearranged bindings are common for magical families like her own, however when she travels to the whimsical Emerald Isle she discovers there’s more to her betrothal and McKale’s clan than she could have imagined. What starts as an obligatory pairing between Robyn and McKale morphs over time into something they both need.

But one giant obstacle stands the way of their budding romance: a seductive and deadly Fae princess accustomed to getting what she wants—and what she wants is McKale as her plaything. Love, desire, and jealousies collide as Robyn’s family and McKale’s clan must work together to outsmart the powerful Faeries and preserve the only hope left for their people.

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge ( Day 5 )

5. Recommend a tear jerker.

This book chronicles the unforgettable account of one of the most severe child abuse cases in California history. It is the story of Dave Pelzer, who was brutally beaten and starved by his emotionally unstable, alcoholic mother: a mother who played tortuous, unpredictable games--games that left him nearly dead. He had to learn how to play his mother's games in order to survive because she no longer considered him a son, but a slave; and no longer a boy, but an "it." Dave's bed was an old army cot in the basement, and his clothes were torn and raunchy. When his mother allowed him the luxury of food, it was nothing more than spoiled scraps that even the dogs refused to eat. The outside world knew nothing of his living nightmare. He had nothing or no one to turn to, but his dreams kept him alive--dreams of someone taking care of him, loving him and calling him their son.

This story is not for the faint of heart. Seriously. It is brutally honest, disturbing, and heartbreaking. If you are like me, you may want to close the book, walk away to a corner and just cry, but you can't. You will read till the last page, tears streaming the entire time.

“Inside, my soul became so cold I hated everything. I even despised the sun, for I knew I would never be able to play in its warm presence. I cringed with hate whenever I heard other children laughing, as they played outside. My stomach coiled whenever I smelled food that was about to be served to somebody else, knowing it wasn't for me.”

15 Day Book Blogging Challenge ( Day 4 )

4. What's the last book you flung across the room?

I've never really been a thrower. Oh I have imagined it many a time, but I could never actually do it!

Here are some of the different ways I react to books ( When I am not happy )

A. Dissapointment: When A book is simply letting me down and not living up to it's potential I close the book ( or the cover on my nook ) , set my hand on top of it, and shake my head sadly.

D. The Lover's cry: When a couple should be together, but isn't. Or Shouldn't be, but is. I Hold my hands out and just sob a little.. * why... why.... WHY?*

C. Heartbroken: Now we are near the top of my wrung. When the author does something to their characters that is just... devastating.  Kiera Cass was the last one to do this to me. A Scene in The Elite with one of my favorite characters. I just... I couldn't believe what was happening.

The Book Sits in my hands, still open. I stare at my walls, trying to understand... what...just...happened. I'm Broken.

( Seriously guys... this is sad David Tennant standing in the rain...
FEEL MY PAIN )

D. The Rage: I read something that cannot possibly be true. A character has done something so despicable - or the author had someone do something to a MC- So heinous. I grip the book tightly, it cuts into my hand as I raise it high * cue dramatic music getting louder and louder * I imagine it soaring through the air! Heating the satisfying * CRACK* as it hits the wall and then falls to it's doom!

But it never leaves my hands. If anything, the worst I have done is toss it to the end of my bed, cross my arms while seething, and stare it down. Then I give in. Pick it back up, and read until it makes me happy again.

3. Who are your Blogging BFFs?

This is kinda a hard one for me. Not because I can't think of any. But because there are a couple Awesome bloggers who I feel I was close to, but now am not.

Katie From Katie's Book Blog , Anna From Literary Exploration and Jessirae from Words, Pages and Books.

These girls are amazing! Not only are their blogs amazing, but they have awesome taste in books and are always willing to answer questions!

It's my fault that we drifted. I got caught up in my life and wasn't on Twitter much, and my blog was also pushed to the side. I hope they can forgive me for disappearing and that we can get close again!

Also a big hug going out to my girl Jessica from Just a Book Lover! My gosh this girl makes me smile. She came to me with blogging questions and my gosh I hope I steered her right! She also is so intuitive, and knows just the right time to send me super sweet tweets to get me in a better mood. I look forward to all the shinanigans we will get up to! Still up for a Hallo-Read-Athon or challenge Jessica!?

Can't forget my name twin! Michelle from In Libris Veritas ! This girl is a phenominal bloggrr and friend. She has brought me up when I was down, helps get me back on track when i'm in a commenting slump and gives great advice ! I am so happy to have found her !

These girls Understand when my feelings are like:

When I say things like:

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge ( Day 2 )

See my response to challenge #1 HERE

2. What's your bedtime reading ritual?

I don't really have a set ritual. Of course I always want to read before going to bed. But that doesn't always work out.

Sometimes the book bores me
and I get sidetracked by the TV show playing in the background ( most recently that has been Tudors. )

I can't always read before bed. Sometimes I'm just plain exhausted. After work and chores and trying to wrap my brain around everything else in my life. I just crash.

Sometimes I don't even want to read * GASP * Did I just say that!?
My guy and I have TV shows we watch together, sometimes we just watch until we fall asleep. Fallen Skies, Amazing Race, Master Chef, Hell's Kitchen, Big Bang Theory. The list goes on. Since my Guy is not a big bookworm like me, I enjoy getting to cuddle up with him after a long day and just watch TV till I fall asleep.

.. Sometimes he falls asleep before, I turn off the TV, Pull out my book and try to turn the pages super quietly ;)

Back when I was still living with my parents I would challenge myself. See how many books I could finish in one night! Many a night was spent reading, then listening for my Dad's footsteps... and rushing to click off my light quietly so I wouldn't get in trouble.

Basically my reading schedule is a bit like my explanation.  It's not set. It's jumbled and all over the place.

But oh.. those nights when I can curl up in bed with a book in my hand.. a cup of hot cocoa on my nightstand, a cozy blanket wrapped around me and the sound of a good storm outside my window? I dream of those nights. They don't happen often enough.

So there it is. My Bedtime Reading Routine, that is in no way " routine". What's yours? Tell me in the comments, or create your own post! Be sure to link up @ Goodbooksandgoodwine.com !
